Recent changes in the law on physical restraint and seclusion of students have presented challenges for schools across the country. Providing systems within a school setting to manage challenging behaviour and understanding what defines imminent harm that can lead to the restraint of a student is vital if a school is to operate successfully within the law. The fundamental goal in this work is to uphold the wellbeing of the staff and students. Kathy can provide training to senior managers and staff on developing the framework of policies and procedures that are now a requirement for all schools.
Teaching is a rewarding profession, but it can be challenging at times too. Kathy has extensive experience helping teachers manage the pressures and challenges of their teaching roles.

About Kathy Moy-Low
Masters Educational Leadership, Fellow Trinity College London, Licensed Private Investigator
I have spent my career endeavoring to meet the needs of the children and staff whether at the chalk face or in management and leadership roles. Developing the whole child academically, emotionally, socially and physically in a balanced way, as they grow to take their place as independent adults is crucial for a healthy society. Regardless of gender, cultural, economic or religious background those who work with young people need to focus on achieving equitable outcomes and developing the student within a holistic framework.
Leadership of any organization is earned. Through facilitation and discussion, a good leader establishes common values, policies and systems of the organization and then develops procedures for measuring the effectiveness of the organisation’s delivery. Establishing a vision that is shared and known by all members in the community is fundamental. Creating an environment of lifelong learners who strive to continuously improve delivery and personal skills through reflection, professional development and accountability that is based upon best practice, is I believe the key to a successful organisation.
My career has been focused on delivering excellence. I have proven myself to be a leader who is able to work with all members of a community to achieve success for all.
What Our Clients Say
Testimonials
Really interesting for the whole duration. Made me realise that many of the people in the scenarios didn't intend to misuse their power... but made some bad calls. I think it also helps me question how close I should be with students when a key part or teaching is building relationships. I think your presentation was a good reminder that it is a tricky balance, and I should evaluate my conversations and actions. It was also good to discuss with colleagues afterwards tricky situations with students and better ways to keep myself and them safe.
As a 'long in the tooth' teacher it was interesting to see how the younger staff members reacted to some of the scenarios presented. I guess these are not things that they cover in any teacher College courses. As we seek to balance the professional standards with building relationships with our students it is obvious that the lines which used to be quite clear are now blurring a little. There was a chance for some great questions and some excellent advice and conversations around the topics covered. There was also some good reflection time.
I believe the investigation and report is very thorough, and overall happy with the result. Complaints Committee Chair
Thank you for keeping us informed and also for the positive way you interviewed people - good feedback from those we've spoken to.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for one of the most valuable and thought provoking PD sessions that I’ve attended. As a teacher who has retired early and returned to his passion because he has missed it so much, your presentation at Heights on Friday really gave me cause to reflect on my past, present and future in this profession - in a positive frame. Also having served as a Board Chair in a primary school and a staff rep in a secondary context, I believe your role is invaluable - with your experience and empathy! Our staff at Heights really appreciate honesty and you left us holding your mana in high regard!
Kathy is a consummate professional who understands the process and pitfalls of an investigation. Kathy is methodical and well planned in her approach and is able to assimilate complex information and come to a clear plan. I worked closely with Kathy on a number of cases, and was always impressed with her ability to build rapport with people, and to get to the heart of the issue
